Thank You Tesco Community Fund

We are so pleased to have received £500 towards our Well-Being & Activities provision from the Tesco Blue Token Community Vote that took place earlier this year.

The funding will enable us to take some residents out on boat trips from the Harbour, past the Pier and on to Beachy Head lighthouse, thanks to the charity Wet Wheels.

Our Well-Being & Activities programme encourages participation, helps reduce social isolation, whilst maintaining emotional well-being.  Our residents are at high risk of falling into depression as their conditions deteriorate, so it is vitally important to their health & well-being that they experience a full & active in-house social & recreational programme.

Social care budgets are over-stretched & the complexity of the nature of the conditions the residents suffer from, funding is directed to fund care.

The main source of our funding comes from residents’ fees, which cover the cost of their care package and contributes to the daily running costs of the home.  Various commissioning bodies fund the majority of resident care packages and we have just 5% surplus to fund all our additional costs, including the upkeep of our beautiful building, upgrading our equipment, and to provide the extra social and recreational activities and services that enhance the comfort and well-being of our residents, which is why we rely on donations and fundraising.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us, your support has helped enhance the lives of our residents.
