Jill & Andrew raise funds for our Well-Being Department

We want to say a big Chaseley thank you to Jill and Andrew of F S Property Services for their wonderful donation of £570.

Jill & Andrew decided to undertake a 3 week tandem bicycle challenge and their company pledged to donate £1 for every mile cycled, with the total raised being split between Chaseley and The Urology Foundation.

Jill shared with us that “The residents and staff at Chaseley are the people who inspire and drive us to keep pushing the pedals, and doing the miles. Every day is a challenge for disabled people and their carers, and we admire their bravery, cheerfulness and positivity in sometimes very difficult circumstances.”

We are really proud to share that Jill and Andrew cycled an amazing 1,125 miles and we think they are real superstars.

Why fundraise for Chaseley?

Chaseley is an independent, charity-owned nursing home and our main source of funding comes from residents’ fees, which cover the cost of their care package and contributes to the daily running costs of the home.  Various commissioning bodies fund the majority of resident care packages and we have just 5% surplus to fund all our additional costs, including the upkeep of our beautiful building, upgrading our equipment, and to provide the extra social and recreational activities and services that enhance the comfort and well-being of our residents, which is why we rely on donations and fundraising.

Fundraising Projects for 2023

2023 sees us embark on the second year of our 15 year plan enabling us to modernise, update and refresh our Chaseley home.  The planned works will ensure we can continue to deliver the best care possible to our residents for the next 75 years.

During 2023 we are looking to raise funds that will help us to complete the following:

  • Repair the final lift within the home
  • Repair and refresh 21 windows around our home
  • Repair some of the upper skylights
  • Replace some of the flooring
  • Complete the upgrade of all our bathroom facilities

The Chaseley building is a complicated one that has been altered and extended over many years and with a property of this size and complexity it is important to future plan any building works, including maintenance, repairs and improvements.  With your help, we are sure that throughout 2023 we will be able to raise the funds needed and ensure our residents continue to receive the excellent care they require, whilst living in a first class home that they deserve.

Did you know that you can support Chaseley by joining the Eastbourne Local Lottery and winning up to £25,000?

Tickets cost just £1, with 50p of that coming directly to Chaseley and a further 10p goes into the Community Fund to support other local good causes.
