Jackie completed her very own Chaseley Church Challenge

To kick start #GladToCareWeek what better story to share than that of our wonderful Support Worker Jackie. Not only is Jackie a great colleague and a brilliant carer for our residents, but she is also someone who really cares and goes above and beyond.

On Saturday, she completed her South Downs Church Challenge, after she had to pull out of the South Downs Ultra just 3 weeks prior, due to back injury.

Jackie’s run took just over 8.5 hours and she covered 62km so that she could raise as much money as possible towards the purchase of an interactive Digital Activity table that can be used by all of our residents.

These interactive touch screen tables are a powerful ally in treating, and enhancing the lives of residents recovering from a stroke, or living with other advanced disabilities. They have over 1000 apps and functions and are really good for brain training, relaxation, creativity, exercise, communication, entertainment, sensory and hand eye co-ordination.

Each table costs £5,350 and so far Jackie has raised nearly £1,000. If you would like to sponsor Jackie you can still do so here: http://ow.ly/vkFq50JzOZL

Thank you Jackie, from everyone at Chaseley and we hope you know just how amazing you are. Here are some of Jackie’s pictures from her run with her dog Mimi on Saturday.
